To do so, they turn to Dr. Lundi himself for help. Who are the followers of the Sith? Devoted to the study of the dark side of the Force, they live an underground existence…but their threat is growing. Although they do not have Sith power, they are on a constant search for it. Nothing—not even the Jedi Knights—will get in their way. Lundi is the leader of the Sith followers.

As a Jedi team, it was essential that they share every piece of knowledge they gathered. They had to trust each other. With a jolt, Obi-Wan realized that Anakin might not totally trust him.

Why else would he keep something like this from him? As Obi-Wan stared down at his Padawan learner, an awful thought crept into his mind: He wasn't sure he completely trusted Anakin, either.

Did Yoda think he was failing as Anakin's Master? Was he concerned that he was not capable of leading the boy? These were his own fears, of course. Qui-Gon had been such a wonderful teacher. He was brave, strong, and wise. A gifted leader. Would Qui-Gon think I am failing Anakin? That the boy needs an older and wiser Master? Qui-Gon had been dead for almost four years, yet Obi-Wan suddenly felt his Master's presence.

He was grateful for that, and took comfort in it. But sometimes he felt the loss so strongly that his chest ached. Jan 06, Thomas rated it it was ok Shelves: science-fiction , star-wars-legends , juvenile , , star-wars.

The Followers is the second of the special edition books in the Jedi Apprentice series, as well as being the last book in that series. It's intended to bridge the gap between the Jedi Apprentice and Jedi Quest series, and like Deceptions, the other special edition book in the series, this book is split into two halves, one with Obi-Wan as Qui-Gon's apprentice, the other half with him as Anakin's Master.

The story that connects the two is a singular one involving the search for a Sith holocron. Th The Followers is the second of the special edition books in the Jedi Apprentice series, as well as being the last book in that series. The book is fairly forgettable. In the first half of the book, Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan investigate a teacher who has ties to Sith artifacts, and they suspect he's trying to retrieve a holocron to learn the secrets of the Sith.

In the second half, Obi-Wan and Anakin revisit this teacher ten years later as they suspect one of his students is going to attempt to retrieve that same holocron. The connection between the stories is good, but since both stories involve the same characters going to the same planet to retrieve the same holocron, the two halves feel repetitive.

We're reading the same story in both halves, just with a few minor changes. In addition, the book has little connection to the series that preceded it. In Deceptions, there was a clear connection to previous events, which tied it neatly into the whole series, but in The Followers, there are no secondary characters brought in to cement the story with the series. Bant makes a brief appearance, and Tahl is mentioned in passing, but otherwise the only characters carried over from the series are Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan.

Plus, part of the charm of the series has been the relationship that develops between Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan, which is dropped in favor of the plot, leaving the story uninteresting and forgettable.

It makes me wonder if Watson wrote this one just to get the series to an even twenty books. Nov 01, Vonte R rated it really liked it. I havn't read it all the way through but it was going out good so far reading it. What I've read so far in this book is that Qui-Gon, and Obi-Wan are finding out of what was causeing fear on other young jedi's. Master Kit Fisto's and his apprentice were on a mission on a planet and his apprentice eyes was a look of fear.

So Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan start mission on finding someone that is causing the fear in students. In the middle of a city they were following a unknown jedi teacher that thought jedi students about the dark side and what the sith can do,so they're figuring out if he's the one that cause fear on Kit Fisto apprentice and other students.

As you read through this story if you read carefully on the action part you can almost see the action on what they're doing. If you want to read a cool, mystery, and action book it would be this book.

May 13, Bernard rated it liked it Shelves: wookieerrific. From that angle, I suppose it worked. The main conflict was pretty weak and contrived. Why didn't they just get Kit Fisto to get the holocron? Having the same mission in two different time periods was an interesting literary device, but they definitely glossed over what could have been much more exciting details in both of the underwater holocron-retrieval attempt scenes.

I can see the appeal for YA Young Adult readers. In any case, I'm glad I'm done with this YA series. It was definitely worth reading it, mostly from the perspective of gaining some insight into Qui-Gon, alas we hardly knew him. I'll be glad to switch back and finish up the New Jedi Order series, before tackling the Jedi Quest series.

The storyline revolves around the acquisition of a Sith holocron and how it taints those who touch it. At this point there were no regrets in my decision to read all of the books in the SWU in chronological order.

Of course Jul 10, Summer rated it liked it Shelves: kindle , star-wars , , star-wars-timeline , And now sadly we say goodbye to the early adventures of Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan.

Then Qui-Gon dies and leaves him Damien over there and we all know this ends with hermitage in the desert being pretty much the best part of Obi-Wan's life. You deserved better, buddy. Still, I love this ridiculous series and I love that this fandom has such a broad canon. I'm sorry to leace it behind, but still looking forward to the rest of my re-read. Bant is Kit Fisto's apprentice! The two were on a mission to Korriban and found followers of the Sith. Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan follow a professor named Lundi, who seems to head followers of Sith, and hopes to attain a Sith holocron. The chase leads them to be victims of attack. And the holocron falls out of everyone's hands. Ten years later, Obi-Wan is with Anakin and goes back to Kodai and attempt to retrieve the holocron. Lundi is again featured, along with his former students.

Through the chaos, Obi- Bant is Kit Fisto's apprentice! Through the chaos, Obi-Wan is able to doubt Anakin. May 03, Zuzana rated it it was ok Shelves: star-wars.

This was the last one. Sad that the series is over.
